"Pierrot lunaire" (Peter the Dreamer)

Arnold Schoenberg (1874-1951) composed "Pierrot lunaire" (Peter the Dreamer), musical piece with voice, between march and september 1912 ; the music is based on 21 poems written by the Belgian poet Albert Girand, with a German adaptation later by Otto Hartleben. With an intensely expressionist atmosphere, the magnificent setting of an old electric power station was the ideal site fo "Pierrot lunaire". These very original songs by Fernando Avila leads the spectator into the extraordinary world of poetry, parody and drama of this 20th century musical masterpiece.
