Socio-Economics Development

This short film is produced by the Onchocerciasis Control Program in West Africa (APOC), under the technical control of the FAO. This film is about the methods of prevention and healing of this disease, which develops especially in the fertile ground near the rivers, that consequently stay uninhabited. The onchocerciasis, also called “blindness of the rivers”, hits 36 countries in the world. This public health problem touches especially Africa, where the disease is a serious obstacle to socio-economics development.
