Episodes of the Great War

A white class-room ... There are 21 school desks for 42 pupils in this class-room, but nobody will ever sit at them again... Not those 1990 pupils who were underage inmates of the concentration camp, which was located in a small Belarusian village Krasny Bierah during the World War II. In those days of distress and murder Nazis used to forcibly take away children from their parents and send them to a collection point where the kids had to give blood for the wounded German officers. Also, the children were forced into hard labor in the provinces of the Reich.
The story about the White Class-Room memorial complex dedicated to the memory of the victims of the children’s concentration camp is a part of the journalistic documentary Episodes of the Great War, produced by the First National Channel of the Belarusian Radio. In Belarus, in the very center of Europe, one finds thousands of monuments and memorials associated with the events of the World War II! Hatyn and Brestskaya Fortress, the Glory Mound and Belynichi Field, and many more... bloody marks of the war, forever engraved into our history. Evidence of the terrible tragedy is amassed at the Belarusian Museum of the Great Patriotic War, whose new building opened this year.
