Radio: death of Jacques Matthey-Doret, a great man for radio
2013-04-04
Jacques Matthey-Doret, former Head of News at the Radio Suisse Romande (RSR) and founding member of URTI (International Radio and Telvision Union) died on April 1st 2013. Acknowledged as a pioneer in modern journalism, Jacques Matthey-Doret had a passion for the World. He hosted a great meeting of international politics with his show "Mirror of the world".

This great journalist liked to talk about his ideas with his foreign colleagues always humbly but with confidence, notably inside URTI or CMCA of which he went on following the works all these last months.

Always ready to defend his media, RADIO, Jacques Matthey-Doret once declared something which is still significant today in the journalism schools as well as in our newsrooms: "Radio, and notably the news, has a tendency to become laconic by dint of wanting to be concise. If radio just makes us want to read next day's papers, it resigns."

Thank you Jacques, thank you friend.
