URTI and ASBU sign a cooperation agreement

2011-12-16On the occasion of the general Assembly of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) held this Thursday, December 15 in Tunis, the Director general Mr Slaheddine Maaoui signed a cooperation agreement with the International Radio and Television (URTI) also represented by its Director general Mr Alain Massé.
ASBU and URTI contribute in a significant way to the movement and broadcast of audiovisual works respectively in the Arab world and on a global level. This new cooperation agreement will allow to reinforce the cooperation between the two Unions in four domains:

International circulation and audiovisual programme exchange

URTI manages an exchange catalogue of more than 4,000 programmes between its international
radiobroadcaster members. ASBU also organizes the movement of audiovisual works in the Arab world between its members. The cooperation platforms of URTI (ECT) and ASBU (Menos) will allow to establish an exchange bridge in order to favour the movement at a global level of certain programmes proposed by radio and television channels of the Arab world.

Synergies between the Festivals of ASBU and the URTI Grand Prix

The Festivals of ASBU will find an international outcome thanks to the synergies established with the
URTI Grand Prix which got to the first rank in international audiovisual grand prix.

International cooperation and coproductions

Both Unions will also get together, whenever possible, to conceive common projects of multilateral cooperation in view of answering calls for tender from great international money backers (European Commission, UNESCO,…).

Crossed promotions and follow-up of projects

Both parties will ensure the crossed promotion of their main activities through their respective
communication tools (Web site, newletter,…).
