Khadija Al Salami will be the President of the
34th International URTI Grand Prix for Author’s Documentary. She will lead the meetings with the Jury members from June 12 to 15 2015 in Monaco, in the framework of the
55th Monte-Carlo Television Festival.
The presentation of the URTI Grand Prix will take place during the Golden Nymph ceremony of the Festival on Thursday, June 18 2015.
Khadija Al Salami is Yemen’s first woman film-maker. She has made some over 25 documentaries for various TV stations in France and Yemen and received several awards at various film festivals worldwide. With Charles Hoots, she has written a book, “The Tears of Sheba” about her experiences growing up in Yemen. She occupied until 2012 the post of Press Counselor and Director of the Communication and Cultural Center at the Embassy of Yemen in Paris.
Among the awards she received: The Knight of the Order of Arts & Letters awarded by the French Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand. Inspiring woman, chosen by the Mosaic Foundation, Washington D.C. Medal of Honor rank of Knight awarded by the French President Jacques Chirac.
Khadija Al Salami directed her first movie “I Am Nojoom, Aged 10 and Divorced”, inspired by her personal story.
27th International URTI Radio Grand Prix - CALL FOR ENTRIES

Call for entries until Friday 4 September 2015
For its 27th edition, the International URTI Radio Grand Prix launches its call for entries on the theme of
MULTICULTURALISM.
Be ready to participate:
- The URTI competition is open free of charge to any radio broadcasting organisation or association and institution which devotes itself to the audiovisual media.
- URTI Grand Prix award: 1,000$ (one thousand dollars). Length of the programmes: 60 minutes maximum.
- Programmes should be entered in their original version. A script of each programme must be provided in French or in English if the proposed version is not in one of these two languages.
- The programmes must be sent on CD or recorded directly on the URTI website.
- You can register your programmes by sending us back the enclosed entry form or directly on www.urti.org

the Media2020 Conference – Bringing Media to the Future, organized by Radio Romania in partnership with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, will be held in Bucharest this summer, between June 30th and July 1st.
